Launched in readiness for FM18 as a place for me to share my experiences with Football Manager fans around the community, this blog will be a place to not only offer something to read, but also a place to provoke ideas, conversations and most of all have a bit of fun (hopefully).
FM17 was good to the community with regards to blogging. The likes of FM Grasshopper, JL Aspey and latterly Cleon made me want to take a stab into the blogging community and hopefully, if you’re a fan of their work, you’ll like what I’m trying to do here!
So why The Midfield QB? Well, it’s a nod towards two things; American Football & the type of player I admire, think Pirlo, Scholes, Xavi, Alonso etc etc.
My aim is to deliver you two things, what I want to write and what you want to read. I hope that at best you’ll take ideas from what I’m writing about and at worst start a conversation.
My main topic will of course be around the Football Manager series and in addition to that I’ll do my best to keep you up to date with some going-ons around the #WeStreamFM community that I’m fortunate to be a part of (more on that later).
Now for the personal bit, for those that don’t know me from old, my real name is Joe. I’m 33 years young and have been playing Championship/Football Manager for as long as I can remember, probably in the region of 20 years (Christ!) – I have been around the FM community in various roles for a number of years; FM Underground, The Dugout, Fever-Pitch, Los Wonderkids/Supports Interactive/FM Fanboys, mainly creating small content pieces like tactics, training (when it was decent), player guides and the like. I took a short break from Football Manager in 2015 to concentrate on my real-life management career but the bug never left me and once again the game took over my life come FM17 time! From early 2017 I have been lucky enough to have been part of #WeStreamFM. Now I’m not a streamer, but I am a big community supporter and love to get behind a project, so along with the faces of the brand we set about creating a new type of community, one where the viewer gets to see real time football management, for better or for worse. We are very much in the growing stage of our project, but the long-term wish is for the community to be connected in a way it has never been able to before.
Come and say hello. If you follow me on Twitter, interact with me, I’d love to know what you think for better or for worse.
Share what you like. This doesn’t just apply to me, there are hundreds of content creators that put a lot of time in to creating content and the seconds that it takes for you to like, share, retweet or whatever means a lot to every creator.
Enjoy it. If you think there’s something that can be better, tell me.
If you are still reading by the time you get to this, thank you, your support will not go unnoticed.
